We all know how challenging finding a place to park may be - especially in busy areas. If you, like many of us, need to use on-the-street parking every now and then or regularly, how often do you find yourself circling around streets packed with cars before you find a spot? With Parkingwatcher.com, our goal is to help you effortlessly park your car.
While we are yet on the journey of creating a full-fledged peer-to-peer parking solution, we rolled out our ParkingWatcher mobile app to alleviate the pains of parking. The app highlights where public parking and vacant parking spots are in your vicinity and helps find your already parked car.
ParkingWatcher functions:
Public parking locations. Public parking areas and places where people usually park on-the-street are shown. This information is gathered from the Internet and enriched with the data of our app. *
Mark free space. Mark a free spot with one touch, whether you are driving or just walk by. This allows drivers to help each other in finding free places. Free spot pins on the map will gradually fade until they disappear entirely in 20 minutes. ** If more than one free spot is observed in the same area, you would see all these.
TBD Park and un-park. Mark the spot where you parked and un-parked. Optionally add a comment to remind yourself the details. Once you have un-parked, a free space marker will be set at this location helping other drivers. * If you forgot to clear the parking location after you left, the pin will be cleared off automatically once you park in your next location.
TBD Park and un-park automatically. This function makes use of your Bluetooth device to determine when you park and un-park.
Find your car. You can make it back to your car using Google Maps installed on your device.

For now, the app works well only if you are using a single car
