About LINE For PC

BrowserCam provides you Line for PC (laptop) free download. Line Corporation introduced Line app for Android, iOS, Windows, Blackberry and Nokia phones although you may well install Line on PC or MAC. You will find a few really important points listed at the end of the post that you have to keep in mind before you start to download Line PC.

Line: Free Calls and Messages, is yet another personal communications app that has most of the features you would need. It is also quite popular. Although probably not as popular as WhatsApp, Viber, and Skype, it still has a big user base. Developed by Line Corporation, it's users seem to like its features, some of them which are unique to the app.

Signing up

Setting up an account on the Line app is quite simple. It uses your phone number to create your account. Once you are past the initial setup, all contacts are synced and you can instantly start chatting with your friends who are already using Line. The signup process is easy and quick.

Calls and Messages

As with any other modern communication apps, Line supports most of the message formats.

  • Text
  • Images
  • Videos
  • Voice messages
  • Stickers
  • Contacts
  • Location
  • Polls

One-to-one, as well as group conversations, are available on Line. The shake feature to add a contact to your Line network is a unique way of starting a conversation with your friends. Group conversations are limited to 200 members.

You can initiate Voice as well as Video calling with your friends who are on Line, completely free. The quality of voice and video is decent and we didn't find any delays on a Wifi network.

Free Calls with Line Out

Line also gives you an option for voice calls with your friends who are not yet on Line. The rates are cheaper than you usual cellular network charges. It's similar to what apps like Skype and Viber offer. Not sure how many people use it, but this might be useful in countries where WhatsApp or Skype is blocked for some reasons.

Stickers and Emoticons

Line is focussed heavily on Stickers and Emoticons, targeting the young crowd. There is a marketplace for Stickers where people can buy and sell unique Stickers and send it to their friends. While it might be fun for some time, to us it seems useless as a feature.

Line: A Social Network as well

Line also has an integrated social network, well, kind of. You can post updates, photos, videos on your timeline, and your friends and view and comment on them, a miniature version of Facebook. You can also follow Line's Official Accounts where various brands run promotions, post news about their products.

Verdict

We would rate Line 4/5. It has most of the features as compared to other communication apps. Timeline feature, although unique, doesn't have many takers. Stickers are emoticons are just flashy features to attract the young crowd. Voice and video call quality are decent and are at par with its competitors. UI is modern and intuitive. Although it's doing everything right to stand out as a direct competitor with WhatsApp, the largest part of the pie has already been taken up by the later. I would probably only download and use Line for its stickers, which is just fun. That's about it.

How to Download Line for PC:

1. Download BlueStacks emulator installer on your PC from BlueStacks website.

2. Click on the installer once the download completes.

3. Keep clicking "Next" until you land on the final Setup screen.

4. Click "Finish" on the final screen. BlueStacks App Player will be installed in a few minutes.

5. At this point, open BlueStacks Android emulator either from the Windows start menu or the desktop shortcut.

6. Connect a Google account by just signing in, which could take a short while.

7. Congratulations! Now you may install Line for PC through BlueStacks app either by finding Line app in the Google Play Store app or by directly installing the Line APK which you can download from here.

Once you have installed the Android emulator, you may also install the APK file that will install Line for PC either by simply clicking on the apk or by opening it via BlueStacks emulator. Some of your selected Android games or apps are probably not found on Google Play Store because they don’t stick to Program Policies. In such cases, we recommend downloading the APK file and installing it yourself on BlueStacks App Player. If you choose to use Andy emulator as an alternative to BlueStacks or you are going to install free Line for MAC, you could still follow the same process.
